SUBJECT: GUATEMALA REQUESTS SUPPORT FOR CANDIDATE FOR
INTERAMERICAN JUDICIAL COMMITTEE
1. This is an action request (see paragraph 4).
2. We received a request from the Guatemalan Ministry of
Foreign Affairs for support for their candidate for the
Inter-American Judicial Committee Qthe Organization of
AmericanQates, Rodolfo Rohrmoser-Valdeavellano. A copy of
the request and a biography will be faxed to WHA/CEN and
WHA/USOAS.

The Government of the Republic of Guatemala has decided to
present the candidacy of Rodolfo Rohrmoser-Valdeavellano to
occupy one of the two vacant positions in the Inter-American
Judicial Committee, in the elections that will take place
during the Thirty-seventh Regular Session of the General
Assembly of the Organization of American States, to be held
in Panama, in June 2007.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to highlight the
merits of Rohrmoser-Valdeavellano, who has an extensive
career in the sphere of civil, mercantile, administrative and
international law. He has been an Arbiter with the American
Arbitration Association (AAA), President and Manager of the
Private Center of Resolution, Conciliation and Arbitration
and President of the Coordination of Entities Interested in
the Peaceful Resolution of Controversies (CENIREPAC). He has
been a Judge and substitute Judge of the Supreme Electoral
Tribunal, Judge and substitute Judge of the Constitutional
Court, Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and
member of several diplomatic missions in different countries
and international organizations.
Due to the value that the Government of Guatemala places on
the candidacy of Mr. Rohrmoser, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs kindly asks for the support that the Honorable
Government of the United States of America can provide to his
candidacy.
